Al-Trabolsi: We helped Italy and Malta stop illegal immigration at sea… Isn’t this the settlement of immigrants?!

The militiaman, Imad Al-Trabolsi, the Minister of the Interior in charge of the Dabaiba government, confirmed that since the February Catastrophe, Libya has been living in complete chaos, which has made it unable to manage the file of illegal immigration, speaking that his ministry helped Italy and Malta stop illegal immigration across the sea, but the immigrants remained present. In his country, this exacerbated the crisis.

During his participation in the Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum, Trabelsi asked, “Isn’t that the resettlement of immigrants?!” We categorically reject this matter.”

Al-Trabolsi said, “The tragedy and chaos that Libya is going through affects the issue of illegal immigration. No one is satisfied with the presence of 2.5 million immigrants in Libya, spread throughout the country, and if we were able to compile an official statistic, their number may exceed 3 million immigrants.”

Al-Trabolsi warned the audience against repeating the events of 2016 against immigrants, saying, “In 2016 there was an uprising in Libya against immigrants that caused bloodshed, which was unfortunate, but I fear that the Libyan street will come out against our immigrant guests, and I asked the masses to give us a chance and wait to try to solve the problem.” “.

He added, “Libya is living in a state of chaos and division, and we cannot manage the various political files. Libya is exposed to many crimes and problems due to illegal immigration, in addition to the high consumption of electricity, which makes us bear a very large burden in various fields, and we suffer from the lack of a budget due to The differences between the House of Representatives and the State, and we want you to look with the eye of reason and interest, because your interest begins with Libya.”

He went on to say, “The crisis is that we are a country that does not depend on resources except oil, and with it we buy what the people need, but we currently have another population of immigrants who are taking from our resources.”

He concluded by saying, “We will give some time to some organizations and countries to cooperate with us, with the exception of our Italian and Maltese friends. We are not asking for money, but rather for planes to return migrants to their homelands. European countries talk about human rights and do not take any official steps to preserve them, and there must be serious work with us.” In the event of non-response, dealings with any organization or country will be stopped, and we will have no other action.”
