Bin Shorada: A third bloc refuses to issue a large budget because of its repercussions on prolonging the term of the two governments

A member of the Supreme Council of the Brotherhood, “The State Advisory Council,” Saad bin Shorada, saw that the disagreement in the interpretation of the texts of the Skhirat Agreement between the two councils; This is due to the conflicting positions of the parties in the Libyan crisis in general regarding the two governments competing for power, and which of them is considered a legitimate government for the country.

Bin Shorada said, in statements to the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, that the political agreement of 2015 was linked to the Government of National Accord, which stipulated that its term of office would be only one year.

He added that Libya is now experiencing a governmental division between the Dabaiba government, from which Parliament withdrew confidence in September 2021, and the Hammad government, which is not recognized by the Supreme Council of the Brotherhood.

He continued that there were those who rejected the budget due to their fear of marginalizing the role of the Supreme Council of the Brotherhood, if Parliament continued its approach of exclusivity in making decisions, and there were those who adhered to the unsoundness of the procedures in accordance with the Skhirat Agreement.

He pointed out that there is a third bloc that refuses to issue a very large budget at the present time. Because of the repercussions of this, perpetuating the political division between the east and west of the country, by prolonging the two governments’ stay in power as a result of the greed of both of them to dispose of their share of the funds.
