Al-Arab newspaper: Türkiye provides the Dabaiba government with a combat march “Akinci” and awaits the delivery of “Horkosh”

The Qatari Al-Arab newspaper revealed that Dabaiba’s government obtained Akinci’s modern march during a visit by Dabaiba to Ankara in 2022, where a military agreement was signed with then Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.

The newspaper saw that the government is expected to obtain a number of Horkosh drones, which are light combat aircraft, stressing that the decision strengthened Al-Dabaiba’s grip on power by protecting his administration from any new military attack that might be launched by the forces of the American Haftar, despite the Turkish military presence. Indeed limits such attempts.

It pointed out that Turkey has military forces in Libya, in addition to deploying mercenaries of Syrian nationality during the war that took place between the Dignity Forces and the Government of National Accord in 2019, as Ankara uses its military presence to preserve its interests, especially in the field of oil and gas.

It pointed out that the drone produced by Baykar, whose board of directors is led by Selcuk Bayraktar, who is the son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has many advantages as it can be controlled by a ground operating station.

It explained that the drone possesses high techniques and technology for detecting and tracking targets, in addition to the capabilities of flying at high altitudes. The aircraft also contains two turbine engines with modern manufacturing technology, and weighs 4.5 tons, capable of carrying ammunition weighing approximately 5 tons.
