Al-Ghawil: The campaign of arrests against Gaddafi supporters is due to fears that Saif al-Islam will return to the forefront

he foreign affairs advisor to the Libyan Tribal Union, Khaled Al-Ghawil, confirmed that the campaign of arrests against supporters of the martyr leader Muammar Gaddafi is due to the fears of some political circles about the return of Dr. Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi to the political forefront.

Al-Ghawil added, in a statement to the Aswat Magharebia website, that the popular and tribal outcry that Dr. Saif al-Islam Gaddafi received when he announced his candidacy for the position of President of the Republic in the country had disturbed many circles, including the militias affiliated with the American Khalifa Haftar in the east of the country.

He pointed out that these forces are silencing all voices calling for change in the country because they realize their modest size among popular circles, in contrast to the great confidence that the Libyans place in the personality of Dr. Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.
