Chopar: Libya is in dire need of a strong government to recover the stolen funds

The spokesman for the National Forces Initiative, Mohamed Chopar, said that all Libyan state institutions are rife with corruption and corrupt officials, stressing that the efforts of Attorney General Siddiq Al-Sur are “modest.”

Chobar confirmed, during a television intervention on the “WTV” satellite channel, that service and public institutions are rife with corruption to a very large extent, and the money that was stolen from the Libyans’ livelihood is being transferred abroad.

He pointed out that Libya is in dire need of a strong and transparent government that can recover the money stolen from Libyans’ capabilities and hold officials accountable for major economic crimes.

He pointed out that a strong authority must be formed to restore state sovereignty, impose security, recover all this money, and stop wasting public money, stressing that armed groups possess weapons and practice the phenomenon of extortion, both in the private and public sectors.

He continued, “The Libyan citizen is unable to provide his daily needs for himself and his family, and everyone knows the extent of the security chaos, and the judiciary in Libya is unable to work to achieve justice in the understandable sense.”
