“Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed” : the presence of a military company at the “Mitiga” base to support the American plan, with Al-Dabaiba’s blessing
The Qatari Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed website revealed the unannounced presence of a number of members of the American company “Amentum” at the Mitiga military base in Tripoli, in preparation for supervising several activities related to the American plan to integrate armed groups into the security and military structures of Al- Dabaiba government.
The website confirmed, in a report, that Amentum company officials visited Tripoli twice last December and January, before the company sent a number of its personnel in early February to the Mitiga base, which they took as a starting point for extensive field visits to evaluate a number of military sites in Tripoli.
The report indicated that members of the American company visited the Takbali camp in the Salah al-Din area of Tripoli, the Naval Academy headquarters in Janzour, the western suburb of Tripoli, and the Harsha camp in the city of Zawiya, west of Tripoli, and it is possible to visit more military sites in areas east of Tripoli.
It pointed out that the presence of “Amentum” in Tripoli is based on a contract with the Ministry of Defense in Al-Dabaiba government, under which the company implements programs to reform the security sector, stressing that the company is working in Libya to implement the American plan to integrate armed groups within the security and army structures.
He stated that what is known from the details of the American plan is coordination with the Chief of Staff of Al-Dabaiba government and the forces of the American Khalifa Haftar, to select groups of regular soldiers to train them on the tasks of guarding ports, borders and vital sites, as well as training other groups on police and security tasks.
Regarding the response of the American Haftar to the American efforts, the report confirmed that there are no details, but what is certain is that Haftar is aware of the American activity through this company.
