The Guardian: Libyan officials admitted to smuggling fuel to fuel the civil war in Sudan, with the support of “Wagner”

The British newspaper “The Guardian” confirmed that Libyan officials confirmed to it that they are opening expanded investigations into fuel smuggling operations in Libya, which contributed to fueling the civil war in Sudan and supporting the “Rapid Support” forces there.

The Libyan official told the British newspaper that “Wagner” mercenaries are currently controlling fuel smuggling operations across the border into Sudan.

The Guardian indicated that the Libyan investigation into fuel smuggling into Sudan will be conducted by the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, and will include an examination of the widespread fuel smuggling practices and the main beneficiaries of them.

Libyan officials told the newspaper that these accusations of “extravagance and corruption” are not only an internal issue, but rather an international issue, especially since this fuel supports the “Rapid Support” forces in Sudan and helps fuel the civil war in a neighboring country, he said.

“This money may also go indirectly to the Russian-backed Wagner Group, which has now been renamed the African Legion,” the official continued.

The official concluded by saying, “Wagner controls fuel smuggling operations across the border into Sudan, and if we close the border between Libya and Sudan to obtain fuel, the war in Sudan will end. This is not a war of advanced technology as is the case in Ukraine, it is an old war with four-wheel drive vehicles.” Without fuel, you will end.”
