Misurata militias: Dabiba seeks to blow up civil war in Zuwara to disrupt the elections

Misrata militias launched a harsh attack against Al-Dabaiba, pointing out that all the tension occurring at the Ras Jadeer border crossing with Tunisia was nothing but his attempts to disrupt the elections.

The militias explained in their statement that they denounce all forms and attempts of Al-Dabaiba government to create chaos and renew the cycle of violence and fighting between the people of the only country, calling on the Presidential Council to assume its national and legal responsibilities to stop Dabaiba’s practices.

In their statement, the militias also condemned the absence of the UN mission and its turning a blind eye to all the transgressions of Al-Dabaiba government, and held it responsible for the outbreak of a new civil war in Libya, and for the crimes committed against the people of Zuwara and the rest of the mountain cities.

They continued, saying, “Bathily is in complicity with Al- Dabaiba government in a blatant manner, and has become subject to the subversive agenda that wants to impose war under false pretexts to disrupt efforts aimed at holding elections and torpedo reconciliation efforts.”

The militias disavowed the commander of the joint force, Abdul Salam Al-Zoubi, and said that “he does not represent the city of Misrata or its military brigades, and we disavow his actions of intimidating and besieging the residents of Zuwara and attacking it with light and heavy weapons in order to extend Al-Dabaiba’s influence for the sake of private interests.”

They also called on the people of Zintan to stop the actions of their militia son, Imad Al-Trabelsi, adding, “We affirm that Al-Trabelsi’s treacherous attack on the people of Zuwara and the use of force against its people is completely unacceptable.”

They concluded by saying, “We assure all the Libyan people that these people only represent themselves and their shameful history. They are the ones who sold themselves for money.”
