Aoun, commenting on his suspension from work: I did not commit any violations and I have evidence that proves my integrity
The Minister of Oil and Gas in Al-Dabaiba government, Mohamed Aoun, issued the first comment on the decision of the Administrative Control Authority (Popular Control) to suspend him from work, saying that he had not committed any violation, and that he possessed the evidence proving his integrity.
Aoun explained in exclusive statements to the “Energy” platform that he would comply with the laws because no one is above the law, but he responded to the accusations directed at him by saying, “I am absolutely certain that I did not commit any legal violation, but rather I worked throughout my time to preserve Libya’s wealth.”
He added, “I always strive to preserve the essential resource for the Libyans in various ways, and I am absolutely certain that the investigations will do me justice, because I am certain that I have not committed any violation, and I also possess everything that proves that I have a great degree of integrity and responsibility, and that I am completely innocent.”
Aoun directed his words to the head of the Administrative Oversight Authority, Abdullah Qaderbuh: “What he mentioned in his speech to one of the media outlets may be understood as a confirmation of the accusations directed against him, as if it was a prior ruling of conviction, before listening to his statements, so his speech came
He continued: “Abdullah Qadirbuh’s speech also came in anticipation of presenting conclusive evidence and evidence that supports our complete innocence of these accusations. Therefore, we fully reserve our legal right, and we remind everyone of the text of the law which states that the accused is innocent until proven guilty by a judicial ruling.”
He concluded by saying, “I demand that my statements be quickly taken through the legal means stipulated in the applicable legislation, in order to clearly demonstrate the truth before the Libyan people.”
