The Council of Elders of Zuwara is afraid of Al-Trabelsi militias stationed in Al-Assa.

The head of the Council of Elders and Notables of Zuwara, Ghali Al-Tuwaini, confirmed that they have concerns about those militias present in the city of Assa, which are being used by the joint security room formed by the militiaman, Imad Al-Trabelsi, to control the Ras Jadeer crossing.

Al-Tuwaini explained in special statements to the “Abaad” platform that the municipality’s elders and notables discussed with the Chief of Staff of the Western Region, Muhammad Al-Haddad, these concerns about the militias stationed in Al-Assa, and they agreed with them to hold an expanded meeting between the Chief of Staff and the people of the city to allay these fears.

He added, “The situation now at the Ras Jadeer crossing is calm and stable, especially after the military forces entered in coordination with the Chief of Staff and were stationed from Abu Kammash to Ras Jadeer.”

He went on to say, “After closing the crossing, the situation was exploited to complete maintenance work on some of its facilities, and now coordination is underway with the authorities operating the crossing to determine its readiness to operate again. I believe that the recent events are due to the lack of coordination and some statements and actions.”
