Al-Shoh: Bathily’s resignation is an “escape” due to his inability to deliver

The former advisor to the Supreme Council of the Muslim Brotherhood, “The State Advisory Council,” Ashraf Al-Shoh, confirmed that the resignation of the UN envoy Abdullah Bathily came as an “escape,” due to his inability to deliver. He repeats in all his briefings that the Libyan leaders are selfish and this situation is comfortable for them, and he did not bring anything new. .

Al-Shoh explained in statements to Al-Masar channel that Bathily’s resignation was due to his confidence in his inability because he did not want to understand the mechanism of dealing with the Libyan mentality during the past years, which had gained immunity with all the envoys and knew how to deal with them.

He continued that those currently on the scene in Libya have become focused on building alliances with some countries instead of dealing with UN envoys and do not care much about them, stressing that Bathily repeated the same exhausting pattern that his predecessors followed, and did not move the static situation that will not change in that way. Even after 100 years.

He went on to say, “I think that Stephanie Khoury, Bathily’s deputy, is currently trying to study the Libyan situation well, and has realized that the main driver of the Libyan crisis is money, and when Khoury gets her hands on the root of the problem, she can then set out on different paths, especially after the battle of Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir and Al-Dabaiba over the issue.” Money and talk about printing counterfeit money from Benghazi.”

He continued, saying, “If there was international action, especially from America, regarding this ongoing battle in Libya over money and drying up the sources of funding for all Libyan parties, we would see major changes in the scene instead of the current barricade.”

He pointed out that everyone in the scene does not want the elections and is trying to confront the other side with other accusations, and their entire goal is to control the money and settle political rivalries, adding, “If these people’s intention was to actually hold the elections, they would have chosen a committee of their representatives to only supervise the elections, but they do not want this.” The matter is that they measure all matters based on their interests.”

Al-Shoh also attacked the parties controlling the scene after the February catastrophe, saying, “There are many parties who have now agreed to remove Dabaiba for private goals and for their personal benefit, not to hold elections, and they are exhausting people with economic crises, scarcity of liquidity, and the exchange rate so that they remain in their places, and the first of them is Dabaiba who benefits from these disputes.” Which is just a front for a group of parties as well.”

He also spoke about naming Stephanie Khoury as Bathily’s deputy, saying, “The naming of Stephanie Khoury was planned to remove Bathily and for her to take over the position in his place, because they know that there is no consensus within the Security Council to name a new envoy, and appointing Khoury does not mean that there is a current American vision for resolving the Libyan crisis, especially since “The United States is in an election year and other international problems are taking a backseat.”

He added, “The current American vision in Libya is to manage the crisis, not solve it, so Khoury is not expected to offer new solutions.”

He pointed out that one of the reasons for the crisis, from his point of view, is the transformation of a person like Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir from a technical person to a political figure, which is the core of the crisis, pointing out that “Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir always tries to obstruct many paths using the money he controls.”
