Delhomme: Saif al-Islam does not need trial balloons and has a broad popular movement demanding his candidacy

The head of Captain Hannibal Gaddafi’s Human Rights Committee, Aguila Delhoum, said that the statement of the Zintan forces is not strange to them, as there are many previous statements of theirs that talk about the homeland and its concerns are very similar to this statement.

Delhoum confirmed, in statements to Al-Wasat satellite channel, that the Zintan statement shows how people have reached a stage after which they cannot tolerate silence, due to the deteriorating political, economic and social conditions, noting that the statement talks about unity, elections and sovereignty, all of which are matters that the entire Libyan people are calling for.

He continued, “One part raised by this statement caused a stir, which is regarding support for the candidacy of Dr. Saif al-Islam Gaddafi in the upcoming elections,” stressing that Zintan is the area in which Dr. Saif al-Islam has lived the most since 2011, which is what caused this controversy, and there was not a single sentence in the statement about it. Clear threat.

He continued that there is no consensus on Dr. Saif al-Islam in Zintan or throughout Libya, because the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, there was no consensus on him, indicating that Saif al-Islam does not need test balloons for his popularity because he is aware of his overwhelming popularity.

He stressed that there is a broad popular movement demanding the nomination of Dr. Saif al-Islam, despite the iron fist that is being exercised over the center and south of Libya. He continued that all Libyans have realized the international criminal game that some have been repeating until now regarding Dr. Saif al-Islam, pointing out that February 17 is no longer a revolution that he is proud of. The Libyans in the East replaced it with dignity, and in the West they became ashamed of it and its banner.

He added that the kidnapping of Sheikh Ali Busbiha reminds us of what Mussolini and Italian fascism were doing, adding that no party in Libya can prevent Zintan or any person or any party from supporting Dr. Saif al-Islam, just as those who support the American Haftar or al-Dabaiba come out, as this is the right of any party.

He concluded by saying, “The supporters of the Jamahiriya regime went to reconciliation despite the state of exclusion that they are trying to implement against us, and I assure everyone that despite the armed militias that control Tripoli, it is safer for the supporters of the former regime than the eastern region, which is controlled by a military fist that wants one-man rule.”
