Al-Ghawil: Hannibal is subjected to ill-treatment in his prison and we demand that he be visited by a medical team

Khaled Al-Ghawil, a member of the defense team for the kidnapped Captain Hannibal Gaddafi, said that the pictures that circulated of Captain Hannibal recently confirm what we previously mentioned about him being subjected to ill-treatment in prison, indicating that the statement issued by Libya denies the story of withholding information due to which the Lebanese judiciary justified his imprisonment.

Al-Ghawil confirmed, in statements to the Saudi Al-Arabiya satellite channel, that Captain Hannibal had previously gone on a hunger strike due to the bad conditions he was exposed to in his prison, adding that we took legal measures directly after the leaked video of Hannibal with the Lebanese authorities and the Lebanese judiciary, and there will be an internationalization of the case through International human rights organizations and international judiciary.

He pointed out that the defense team is taking quick steps to file a lawsuit regarding the conditions in which Captain Hannibal is being held, explaining that the defense team is officially requesting a visit to Hannibal, and his family is making the same request. We have also requested a medical team to visit him, accompanied by the defense team.

He explained that Captain Hannibal was only allowed to meet his family once or twice a long time ago, pointing out that Hannibal was brought before the Lebanese judiciary unlawfully, without any legitimate charges, and he was not arrested legally, as he was kidnapped from another country.

He concluded by saying, “We have not received any official response from the Lebanese authorities to any of our requests regarding Hannibal Gaddafi, and we are currently waiting for them to deal officially with the statement of the Libyan Ministry of Justice.”
