Al-Shuwaihdi: We are living in a state of chaos, and Al-Dabaiba does not want to hold elections

Jalal Al-Shuwaihdi, a member of the Tobruk Parliament, said that the conditions is not suitable for holding elections in the country, adding that the 6+6 committee accomplished what it had to do despite the current circumstances and situation in Libya.

Al-Shuwaihdi stressed, in statements to the Arab World News Agency, that there must be a new government that supervises the elections and the implementation of this law, continuing, “If the state institutions are not unified, this means holding elections with two governments, and an army in the east and another in the west.” And two censors.”

He pointed out that Libya is now living in a state of chaos and not an election atmosphere, explaining that the problem lies in the lawless government that the 6+6 committee reached, because the law stipulates the formation of a new government to supervise the elections.

He continued, saying, “Article 86 of the National Assembly law says that this law will not be implemented except after the formation of one new government that supervises the elections, and that the members of this government will not participate in the elections. The problem with Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba is that he does not want elections.”

He pointed out that the date of the planned meeting between the head of the Supreme Council of the Brotherhood, “the State Advisory Council,” Muhammad Takala, and the Speaker of the Tobruk Parliament, Aguila Saleh, has not yet been determined, concluding that he does not trust the international community, whether the UN mission or European countries.
