Al-Borghathi: Washington seeks to establish a military force in Libya, so it invited Al-Haddad and Al-Nadhouri to the AFRICOM conference

The Minister of Defense of the German government, Ali Zaidan, Muhammad Al-Barghathi, said that there is a decline in the role of the “5+5” committee because it actually clashes with the dominance of armed formations in the western region, and it is also affected by the tensions of political forces and the government’s struggle for power.

Al-Barghathi pointed out, in statements to the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, the impact of the international conflict on the African continent, and the armed conflicts that erupted in some of its countries from Sudan, all of which had an impact on the work of the committee.

Al-Barghathi warned that the security tensions taking place in the western region as a result of the behavior of the armed formations there add more complexity to the path of unifying the military institution.

He pointed out that the tensions between the parties in the Libyan crisis are still limited to the political side, and have not developed into any armed form that threatens the permanent ceasefire agreement.

Al-Barghathi believed that the reason for Al-Haddad and Al-Nadhouri’s invitation to the AFRICOM conference may be related to Washington’s efforts to establish a joint military force from the forces of the east and west of the country to be stationed in the Libyan, Algerian and Nigerian border region.
