Al-Fitouri: Saif al-Islam is not subject to any foreign party, and supporters of the former regime defend Libya’s sovereignty

Writer Mustafa Al-Fitouri said that the Libyans cannot expect anything new from the expected meeting between Al-Manfi, Takala and Aqila in Rabat, because all councils are legitimate and credible, indicating that none of these councils can do any work that serves the interests of Libya or the Libyans.

Al-Fitouri added, in an interview on the “Libya Al-Ahrar” satellite channel, that it is the same thing that we expected regarding the Cairo meeting that was cancelled, pointing out that there will be no positive development for solutions that will lead us to the elections whether the meeting is held in Morocco, Egypt, or any other country.

He explained that the three figures lack political, legal and popular legitimacy and are all worthless on the ground in the Libyan reality, adding that the interest of the three figures is the same, which is not to reach a political agreement that reaches a specific date for the elections.

He continued by saying, “I do not imagine the existence of any party or two through which a Libyan-Libyan solution can be reached, because the game and the Libyan political scene have its cards outside Libya and those in the scene handed them over to foreign countries.”

He pointed out that those who came after the February catastrophe are trying to divide the country’s cake among themselves, and that is why many supporters of the Jamahiriya regime went to defend Libya’s sovereignty, continuing that the February wings are struggling among themselves to hold on to power through political deals outside the framework of any national consensus or reconciliation that allows participation for all. Or a peaceful political process without violence.

He added that all the current parties have been involved for 13 lean years and they are all involved in crimes against Libya and the Libyans, and experiences have proven that they are all failures and have a natural willingness to give up the country’s sovereignty, adding that Libya is almost occupied now and its fate is not in the hands of its people but in the hands of foreign parties.

He continued by saying, “Saif al-Islam or the movement he represents is not subject to any foreign party so far, and if the Russians announced their support for him, this does not mean that he is subject to them, as he has no financial, armament, or advisory relationship with any foreign party, and in my opinion we must exit the February-September dynasty because Every aspect has its failures and successes, and the final opinion will be for the Libyan people, who will choose what is best for them.”

He pointed out that the presence of the men of the Jamahiriya regime in the Tripoli government or the forces of the American Haftar is not a negative matter, but rather it is evidence that they are experienced people needed by those parties who were applauding NATO and cheering their killing of Libyan civilians.

He concluded by saying, “Whoever talks about Saif al-Islam not being a political thinker, I tell them that there were 98 candidates in the last presidential elections, not a single political thinker among them, but Al-Faisal is here for the people and those they choose.”
