Spanish magazine: Libya, without the Russian military presence, may become an important key to NATO

The Spanish magazine “Atalaiyar” confirmed that Libya, without the Russian military presence, may become an important key for NATO, noting that NATO must adopt a more effective strategy to confront Russian influence in Africa, and help unify Libya to defend itself against all foreign military forces.

The magazine explained, in a report, that Russian intervention in Africa can be described as ridiculously systematic, as it aims to establish partnerships with military and political leaders in the region.

It pointed out that Russia provides weapons, training, and financial support to military leaders who support the coups in exchange for the rights to extract natural resources and military bases.

It continued that the presence of the former Wagner Group, which has now become the “African Legion,” which was brought to fight in Sudan, is a spearhead for implementing the Russian plan, explaining that exploiting the political instability in Libya can be described as the focus of the intense Russian presence in the region.

It added that a unified Libya, which is no longer tolerant of the Russian military presence, can do a lot to confront the tendency of the military junta government in the Sahel region and the instability it brings.

It added that providing Russia with a naval logistics base in the Red Sea based on an agreement between Putin and Sudanese army commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan will give it a greater point of superiority over NATO.

It confirmed that the problems began in Libya when Russia agreed to print and transfer more than 10 billion Libyan dinars to the American Khalifa Haftar after the United Nations mediated the formation of an interim government to unify the country politically.

It added that NATO should limit its military presence in the region and not support coup leaders, and provide more reliable bilateral support to trusted regional governments.
