Ghoga: Bathily’s resignation is not surprising because he did not present anything new
The former Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Treason Council, Abdel Hafeez Ghoga, confirmed that Bathily’s resignation is not a surprise to the Libyans, because he did not present anything new, and his talk about the parties to the Libyan conflict and holding them responsible for what is happening in the country and deepening the crisis is not new.
Ghoga explained, in statements to Sky News Arabia, that Bathily’s failure in his mission is not only borne by the UN mission, but also by the regional powers and the international community that were involved in the Libyan crisis. They all bear responsibility, because of their support for specific parties that achieve the interests of these countries.
He added, “The political solution in Libya will not be through the Libyan parties at all, nor through the Libyan-Libyan dialogue, because the Libyans are the ones who called on the United Nations for help and demanded its intervention since 2014.”
He continued that the impasse in the Libyan political crisis will continue as long as foreign powers and countries adhere to their stubborn positions on the crisis.
