Harchaoui: Haftar’s forces have been coveting control of Ghadames Airport and the surrounding areas for years

The researcher specializing in Libyan affairs, Jalal Harchaoui, said that controlling Ghadames would have many benefits for Haftar’s camp, including preventing any movement of Dabaiba’s supporters towards the south, isolating Dabaiba, and stripping Imad al-Tarabulsi of the advantage of controlling this border area.

In statements to the “Maghreb Voices” website, Harchaoui believed that the forces of the American Haftar have been coveting Ghadames Airport and the surrounding areas for several years because controlling it would greatly enhance Haftar’s regional position in the face of Algeria, Tunisia and Niger after extending his control over the entire south from east to west.

The forces of the American Khalifa Haftar are preparing in preparation for an expected attack on the city of Ghadames, to control it and the Dabdab border crossing, with the support of the Russian African Corps forces.
