Italian politician: Printing currency in the east of the country serves Moscow’s interests, which Haftar protects
The Italian political analyst, Daniele Ruffinetti, said that the printing of the Libyan dinar by a Russian company is part of external activities and is likely to lead to destabilization.
Ruffinetti confirmed, in statements to the economic newspaper Sada, that in particular, the activity covered by Moscow affects the capacity of the eastern government, which enables an executive system that is not internationally recognized and serves as a political base for the interests of the American Khalifa Haftar.
He continued by saying, “This in turn protects Russian interests that Haftar specifically protects, who finds in Libya a center between the Mediterranean and Africa.”
He pointed out that we still have to understand the dynamics and the actors involved, but we can imagine that Russia benefits from maintaining chaos, which is why it is moving.
He concluded by saying that the printing of the dinar illegally serves to finance Moscow’s strategic geopolitical interests in general.
