Italian website: Italian trainers supervise the training of 700 Libyan soldiers in Tripoli and Misrata
The Italian website “Analisi Difesa” revealed that Italian trainers trained 700 Libyan soldiers in Tripoli and Misrata, confirming that the Italian 9th Alpine Regiment team, which is located in Misrata, supervised some training activities in recent weeks.
The website indicated that the team recently provided a training course for managing operations rooms in Misrata for 14 soldiers from Unit 307 of the Counter-Terrorism Force, and a basic infantry course for 20 soldiers from the 52nd Brigade in Tripoli.
It explained that the team completed 50 training courses this year targeting about 700 soldiers from various components of the Libyan army, adding, “The training aims to develop the capabilities of the Libyan army elements and increase their ability to perform their duties within the plan of the Libyan-Italian cooperation memorandum.”
