Members of the “Supreme Brotherhood”: Al-Masuri was kidnapped because of his criticism of Haftar
Members of the Supreme Council of the Muslim Brotherhood, “The State Advisory Council,” revealed that council member Safwan Al-Masuri, who was released by a security agency in Derna today, was kidnapped because of his previous criticism of the American Khalifa Haftar.
The Council’s Rapporteur, Belkacem Debres, said in statements to the “Safar” platform, that they learned that he had been kidnapped by a security agency affiliated with Al-Rajma, because he was considered to be standing against Haftar, due to a previous post he wrote on his personal page on “Facebook” in which he talked about the existence of “prisons belonging to “Al-Rajma, prisoners are tortured and treated in bad ways.”
Dabarz continued: “They wanted to detain him for a longer period and not release him, but our issuance of a statement made a difference and they were forced to release him.”
For her part, Council Member Amina Al-Mahjoub said that Al-Masouri was detained by Internal Security personnel affiliated with Al-Rajma, adding, “We do not know the type of investigation or summons that could affect a person who enjoys legislative immunity like Al-Masouri.”
She continued, saying, “He was detained because he published leaflets about what was happening in Garnada Prison, including torture and disappearance. Although it was published a long time ago, it seems that any statement against Haftar is not forgotten, but is hidden until they find its owner.”
She went on to say, “We do not yet know whether Al-Maswar was beaten or not, nor how he was released, and with what guarantees were made.”
