Qazit: The Cairo meeting aims to adhere to holding presidential and legislative elections in accordance with the agreed upon laws

Member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Supreme Council, the State Advisory Council, Belkacem Qazit, confirmed that the Cairo meeting comes as a continuation of the Tunisia meeting, and aims to resolve the political stalemate.

Qazit indicated, in statements to Al-Raed Network, that the meeting emphasizes the commitment to holding presidential and legislative elections in accordance with the laws agreed upon by the 6+6 Committee, pointing out that the meeting calls, within its general framework, for opening the door to nominations and recommendations for a new government.

He explained that we carried out this work between the two councils because we noticed that the UN mission is not performing its role in the best way, and there are cases of great fragmentation and division, indicating that there is a broad team between the two councils of more than 100 members who are calling for the second time to advance the political process, and everyone is welcome to participate in it. .

He concluded by saying, “Partnership with the local and international community is very acceptable, but we found it our duty to take the initiative and try to pave the way to reach a solution to the political impasse that has begun to frighten everyone except those clinging to power.”
