The American “The Hill” website: Russia is exploiting Libya to besiege Europe, so Putin turned to Haftar to implement his plan
The American website “The Hill” confirmed that Russia is exploiting Libya to besiege Europe, as happened in World War II in 1942, when it stopped the Nazi advance by Bernard Montgomery and his British Eighth Army from Libyan territory.
The website indicated in a report that one of Putin’s strategic goals is to build a new naval base in Tobruk, to deploy force in the western Mediterranean and serve as a future threat to the US Sixth Fleet, which is headquartered in Naples.
It added that another strategic goal of the “crazy” Putin is to secure eastern Libya as Moscow’s main logistical center and a staging area for Russian paramilitary groups, including Wagner mercenaries, operating on the African continent.
It continued that Russia wants to have a foothold in the continent of Africa, which is why Putin resorted to the American Khalifa Haftar to implement his plan, noting that Haftar and his sons control the entire east of Libya, and Haftar’s eleven-year rule led to the spread of “corruption, death and destruction.”
The website pointed out that after the American Haftar met with Putin in Moscow last September, he helped bring Russia and its mercenary forces to Libya and strengthen his authority intelligently, explaining that the Wagner Group is thriving in Africa, and now the Kremlin has complete control over it and it has been renamed the “African Corps.” .
It added that Putin uses this corps to provoke coups, overthrow democracies, and support dictators, all under the pretext of fighting Western colonialism, explaining that Putin does not liberate Africa, nor does he put an end to any remnants of French or British imperialism in the nineteenth century, but rather he is waging his own war of imperial oppression. with it.
It concluded by saying, “Putin’s goal is to steal Africa’s gold, rare earth minerals, and other natural resources to finance his war in Ukraine.”
