The People’s Voice Party acknowledges that the February Catastrophe brought nothing to Libya except through divisions and the service of foreign interests
The People’s Voice Party, headed by Fathi Omar Al-Shibli, acknowledged that the February Catastrophe brought nothing to Libya except through divisions or serving the interests of external powers seeking to plunder Libya’s wealth.
The party said in its statement that the UN mission has failed miserably since 2011. It has not been able to achieve any real progress, whether in terms of ending the conflict, unifying institutions, or holding elections. Rather, it has contributed to divisions, fueling conflicts, disrupting the political process, legitimizing corruption, weakening the state, and continuing the state of chaos. And the turmoil.
He continued, saying, “We demand a firm stance to end the UN mission and remove it from Libya. It is time for us to take matters into our own hands and decide our fate ourselves.”
The party expressed its hope that the Cairo meeting between the President of the Presidential Council, the Speaker of the Tobruk Parliament, and the President of the Supreme Council of the Muslim Brotherhood, the “State Advisory Council” in Cairo, would be serious and would respect those concerned’s commitments to form a unified government that would take the Libyans to elections.
