Trabolsi: The police operate without weapons, cars, or supplies due to a dispute over the budget

The militiaman Imad Trabolsi, Minister of the Interior in the Dabaiba government, said that we hope that the security file in Libya will not be politicized and we do not want to talk about the budget crisis because it is within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister.

Trabolsi added, during his interview with Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath TV, that the budget problem may have a direct impact on our work, even though we are open in our work with all regulatory bodies and no corruption operations have been monitored within the ministry.

He pointed out that corruption in the Interior Ministry in the past reached 80 or 90%, and that police officers did not even receive their salaries, pointing out that the dispute between the Tobruk Parliament, the Supreme Council of the Brotherhood, the “Consultative State,” the Presidential Council, and the government does not concern us, although we hope that they will not politicize the security file because we At the same distance from everyone.

He pointed out that political disagreement exists everywhere and this is not considered a defect, as the security file needs a real stance from these councils because the situation of the police is very, very bad. He explained that they have not received the summer uniforms for the police and they have not received the winter uniforms from last year yet.

He added that police officers buy uniforms from their own account so that they can carry out their work due to political disagreements over the budget, explaining that we are ready and open to explain everything we have spent to any official body or any citizen in the street.

He concluded by saying, “The police operate without weapons, cars, or supplies. In contrast, there are other parties that have the armament and capabilities that are allocated to them daily and monthly.”
