Turkish report: Washington seeks to unify Libyan militias under its control and reduce the influence of Russia and Turkey in the country
The Turkish National Channel revealed Washington’s plan to unify the Libyan militias under its protection and control, confirming that the United States sent armed units from the American company “Amentum” to control the Zawiya refinery, as a first step in its attempt to put the militias in Libya under its control.
The Turkish channel confirmed, in its report, that Washington’s moves were due to military tensions in the western region, the continued political stalemate, and the failure to reach a solution to end the political crisis and division in the country, noting that the United States fears that signs of armed escalation between competing groups will affect its interests in the Region.
The report stated that the United States sent trainers from the security company cooperating with the American administration, “Amentum,” to implement its plan to unify the militias, continuing, “On the eve of the arrival of these elements, John Bosworth, senior vice president of operations at “Amentum,” was spotted in Tripoli.”
It pointed out that the Dabaiba government also issued, in conjunction with the arrival of the American elements, a decision requiring the evacuation of Mitiga Airport and the port of Tripoli, in preparation for transferring control over them to the American company, indicating that additional groups affiliated with that company are expected to arrive, which will include advisors, once the necessary headquarters are established in Libya. .
The report suggested that it appears from these moves that Washington is playing in favor of the Dabaiba government, and is preparing the power bloc in the west of the country for a possible armed conflict with the bloc in the east, explaining that the United States is pursuing a new strategy to transform Libya into its own zone of influence.
The channel explained that it appears from these moves that Washington is waging a secret war with Ankara in the region, especially in Libya. The United States is also trying through these moves to reduce the influence of Russia in the east of the country and Turkey in the west, and to confirm that it possesses great military capabilities that can eliminate Turkish support. in Lybia.
