Whoever earns 1,264 dinars has become below the poverty line.. The World Bank reveals the suffering of Libyans after changing the exchange rate
A study conducted by faculty members at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Derna showed that after adjusting the exchange rate after the tax imposed by the Tobruk Parliament, it made those receiving a salary of up to 1,264 dinars “below the poverty line,” according to World Bank standards.
The study explained that the tax on the exchange rate would reduce the salaries of 2.3 million employees, weaken their purchasing power and dissolve the middle class.
The study called for the necessity of adopting a unified budget approved by the legislative authority, stopping the waste of money from governments, and reducing the expenses of embassies and representations.
