Al-Bakoush: The US government is the one that informed about the 95 Libyans arrested in South Africa
Salah Al-Bakoush, advisor to the godfather of the unjust Resolution No. 7 on Bani Walid, Abdulrahman Al-Suwaihli, said that two days before the arrest of the Libyans in South Africa, the US government imposed sanctions on two people from the Middle East working in South Africa, which indicates that Washington was the one who informed on them.
Al-Bakoush pointed out, in an interview on Al-Wasat channel, that the US Treasury revealed that the two people had recruited elements for ISIS, which raised South Africa’s concerns about the possibility of using the Libyans for terrorist groups.
He pointed out that it is now clear that the Libyans entered to receive security and military training and committed violations of South African laws, and are not affiliated with terrorist groups.
He continued by saying, “All the conflicting parties in Libya have elements that train them outside Libya, which makes everyone accused, but there is a very important matter that the training that these people receive over several months is basic training, which means that the party that sent them does not want the Libyans to know that soldiers are receiving basic training.”
He continued by saying that the Dabaiba government does not mind giving someone basic training, not advanced military training, and the same applies to Haftar’s forces, so I think we cannot rule out that there are other parties responsible for these 95.
He added that these people are being trained in what is called military audit training, which is what attracted the South African intelligence and police because this is different from training for security or police forces.
He saw that there is a political division and a legitimacy crisis in Libya, and the global and regional parties do not find a partner that they can deal with credibly, neither the Dabaiba government, nor Hamad, nor Haftar, nor any other party.
He concluded by saying, “There is no surprise in the way the Libyan state, with its various parties, is dealing with this crisis, and the biggest loser is the reputation of the Libyan state again and those 95 who were deceived,” continuing that the situation is bad and will get worse with the continuation of the political impasse and we are in a dark tunnel.
