Libya Umma Party: The five parties controlling the scene and the international community are benefiting from the recession
The Secretary-General of the Libya Umma Party, Nasser Abu Deeb, said that before we talk about the political stagnation in Libya, we must talk about whether there is even a policy in Libya, adding that we do not have clear policies that will get us out of the current situation we are in even in the near future, because The political process was not established on sound foundations from day one.
Abu Deeb added, in an interview on Al-Wasat TV, that Haftar’s talk about the constitutional declaration being considered frozen, but did he and the parties controlling the scene not benefit from this declaration and its amendments, indicating that the capable parties in the state are the ones who determine what the stalemate is and the mechanism for dealing with it, and everyone He operates without a clear political concept.
He pointed out that the House of Representatives and the State are benefiting from the current situation, even though they hold the keys to resolving the crisis, pointing out that the international community knows that there is no solution in Libya or going to stability or the possibility of establishing a civil and modern state, but it is benefiting like all parties from the general stagnation of that. He maintains it and does not want to move standing water.
He continued by saying, “Who can present a vision for a solution in Libya?!” There is no personality or entity that can present a vision, and talk about consensus in Libya is largely linked to concessions. If any party concedes to another, they can reach a settlement,” he explained, explaining that the crisis is that the five parties controlling the scene do not want to make any concessions through which they could reach a settlement. We save what can be saved in this country.
He added that unless we put pressure to bring about real change in the political process, any change in the government will be of no benefit, adding, “If this change does not happen, the state of crisis management in Libya will continue by external parties that benefit from the situation remaining as it is.”
He pointed out that the general framework for advancing the political process is missing and does not exist, and we saw how he did not present any proposal for a solution, continuing that the Libyan parties are always stronger than any UN envoy, and without imposing a new reality or solution on these parties, we will not find any solution to the crisis because one party Among them are the five parties controlling the scene and clinging to their positions.
He concluded by saying, “There are countries that have economic, political, and military interests in Libya, such as Egypt, Russia, and Turkey, and there are countries that benefit from the continued political stalemate because Libya is not one of their priorities like the United States and European countries, but it is important to them because of its important geographical location.”
