Qazit: Unifying the executive authority in a new government is a first step towards elections

Member of the Supreme Brotherhood Council, “The State Advisory Council,” Belkacem Qazit, said that unifying the executive authority in a new government is a first step towards parliamentary and presidential elections, in light of the results of the Cairo meeting between the House of Representatives and the State.

Qazit added, in statements to Al-Wasat TV, that we have many problems and believe in gradual solutions, and this step is important in order to go to the elections, as we cannot talk about the elections without a unified executive authority.

He pointed out that the members of the two chambers have been working on this consensus for some time, as there was no consensus at the beginning on unifying the executive authority and a government with a new leadership, but a consensus occurred within the 6+6 Committee and was guided by the thirteenth constitutional amendment.

He continued by saying, “There are certainly some discrepancies, but the result we worked on was expected,” considering that the day we have a unified government, we will then be able to calculate the time until the parliamentary and presidential elections.

He explained that the path of the members of the two councils is open to any tributary, at the presidential level or the UN mission, adding, “We do not want to extract anything from the two presidents or the UN mission, and we are open to any other paths that lead to a government that leads to elections.”
